  • How do I get Adobe After Effects keep my movie's 16x9 aspect ratio?

I have used After Effects 7.0 for a while, but I have been having an issue with aspect ratio. When I import my 16x9 footage (originally shot in HDV using the Sony HDR-HC1, then downconverted to DV upon capture to the computer, though still 16x9), and I select %26quot;DV Widescreen%26quot; for my composition type and pixel aspect ratio as %26quot;1.2%26quot;, when I go to have After Effects make the movie, using the MPEG-2 format, it won't export it in 16x9, it wants to use 720x480. So, if I change my pixel aspect ratio to square pixels and lock it to 16x9, then if I try to use MPEG-2 it won't work. I don't know what I'm missing; I realize that with 720x480 comp and 1.2 pixel aspect ratio, then 720*1.2= 864, which is 16x9, but none the less, the output is squished to 4x3. After Effects will do 16x9 with AVI, but that is far too large for DVD or web use. Any suggestions for 16x9 with MPEG-2? How can I change the pixel aspect ratio of my video from 1.2 to 0.9?

Please helpHow can I change the pixel aspect ratio of my video from 1.2 to 0.9?where do you want to change it? You're basically asking to change a widescreen image to a standard aspect image. If you simply stretch it - it will seem %26quot;squashed%26quot; on the screen. Better would be to pan/scan the image in your video editing program. How that's accomplished differs from program to program. In premiere pro you start with a composition that's .9 NTSC - import the footage that's 1.2 and make sure it's interpreted as 1.2. Place on timeline and you should be good to go. other programs will work in similar fashion.

How do i change the aspect ratio from my digital camera to match my widescreen monitor?

when i take pictures with my digital camera they are in the 4:3 ratio, however, my monitor has a natural resolution of 1680x1050, so when i try to use pictures i have taken as wallpapers they either stretch horizontally, or if i centre or tile them they zoom far too close and cut off most of the picture. is there any way to maintain the picture aspect ratio and have them as big as possible to use as wallpapers with my monitor, without having to cut off or zoom into the pictures, and just fill in the gaps in the side of the monitor? thanksHow do i change the aspect ratio from my digital camera to match my widescreen monitor?Hi.

I think there麓s no camera with that aspect ratio, the more common are 4:3 , 15:10 (printed photography) and maybe a extended 23:10 or something like that. The aspect ratio of your screen is 16:10, so my recomendation is to take a picture with your 4:3 aspect ratio, then cut it the part you want whith the same aspec ratio of 16:10 (example. 3200*2000 pixels), later resize the wide to 1680 and the height to 1050 with a picture edition program like photoshop, paint shop , etc. saved it and nothing more,

I have a TV that cuts off the sides of the screen. How do I change the aspect ratio?

I have a Sony WEGA TV that cuts off the sides of the screen while I'm watching movies and playing video games (Xbox 360). I don't find an option to change the aspect ratio that has any effect on the video channel, and a few important things are cut off from the screen.I have a TV that cuts off the sides of the screen. How do I change the aspect ratio?I'm going to go on a long shot here and say you're trying to watch movies with the XBOX 360 as well.

If that's true, go into the 360's dashboard, under system, you should be able to change not only the HD output but the screen size as well. I had to do so with my 56%26quot; HDTV.

If it's another DVD player doing it as well, then go into the XBOX dashboard, verify the settings and test. If it fixes it the DVD player will more than likely have a similar setting in it's menu. I do not believe it is your TV at this point, but the source of the video.I have a TV that cuts off the sides of the screen. How do I change the aspect ratio?Check you TV remote for a screen size button. If that doesn't work, list what cable it's running as. Sometimes, you have to adjust the screen in the game.

  • Problems changing aspect ratio in Video Editing?

Hi, I am using Adobe Premiere to edit a clip I have. It's 4:3 but I want to convert it to 16:9. Whenever I stretch the image in Premiere it remain as 4:3 and just gets bigger. Also when I use something like quicktime to change the video size it stays as a box shape and just has more black on the sides.

The image was shot at 16:9 but for some reason won't go back to that size.

Is there anyway I can stretch the image to that size and not just have black bars across when I change the video size. This is really annoying and be great if someone knew how.

Thanks.Problems changing aspect ratio in Video Editing?f
