Aspect ratio on widscreen laptop?

Hi, I'm using a toshiba M70 satellite laptop with a Moble Intel(R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset. I recently downloaded the newest driver (1st time i've ever updated the driver since i got the computer a year and a half ago). Before I updated, the laptop would maintain a game's aspect ratio by having two black strips to the left and right sides (sort of how fullscreen tvs have two black strips at the top and bottom when playing a widescreen movie). But after the update, whenever I start playing a video game that doesn't have a widescreen resolution option, it simply stretches the image to fit the screen making everthing look overly wide. I liked it much better when it maintained the aspect ratio but have no idea how to change that back. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?Aspect ratio on widscreen laptop?try right click screen and go to / properties / settings and set to different resolution til you find the right one then start your game.
