How to change the aspect ratio of a video?

Well I know that you can change it by right clicking in VLC media player but i really love Windows Media Player and its only drawback is that it does not allow me to set an aspect ratio...

So instead of suggesting new media players can anyone please recommend me a software that can be used for aspect ratio conversion of a video..

Thanks in advance..How to change the aspect ratio of a video?Sudhan, what you need is a cropping tool but it means loosing part of the video to go either from 4:3 to 16:9 or 16:9 to 4:3. If you do it any other way you will distort the image. I do not know of any free tool that will do it but there are a couple of software (shareware) that can do it:
