Help! Aspect Ratios in Adobe Premiere Elements 7!?

I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements 7, and I need to figure out how to change my aspect ratio from full screen (4:3) to widescreen (16:9) Please help! Ten Points to best answer!Help! Aspect Ratios in Adobe Premiere Elements 7!?you can't change the aspect ratio and not distort the look of the video. However you can fake what's known as letterbox. you put black stripes on top and on bottom of your video to look like 16:9... you do cut off the top and bottom of the video... not good unless you've taken precautions for 16:9 when shooting in 4:3... there may be an effect in the editing program to remove the top and bottom at the same time. You'll need to render the entire video to have this look...Help! Aspect Ratios in Adobe Premiere Elements 7!?Have you already started your project? If you haven't yet, then you should be able to just start a new project and choose the widescreen option in the new project dialogue box. But if you've already finished your project, you'll need to import your 4:3 project into a 16:9 project. Hope this makes sense.Help! Aspect Ratios in Adobe Premiere Elements 7!?Mike if you followed the link to the answer it will tell you that it doesn't work..

I have tried this many times as loads of my old camera footage was recorded in 4:3 importing it into a 16:9 project will give you (simply) bars down the side.

If you try to adjust the picture to fit the screen it will be distorted. or you have to zoom in that you loose some of the frame

Hope that explains
