Widescreen (16:9) programming burned on dvd in 4:3. How can I 'stretch' the 4:3 picture to 16:9 on a computer?

No problems on a tv...just change the aspect ratio. Slingbox can do it, but I can't figure out how to get it to stretch on any pc dvd player application (windows media player, divx, etc).
